TON has an unusual distribution advantage: applications and wallets can reach users through the Telegram ecosystem. That does not mean every Telegram user owns the native coin or uses the blockchain.
The previous article converted Telegram’s headline user count directly into a price narrative. This revision separates potential reach from verified on-chain demand.
What the native coin does
TON’s native asset is used for transaction and smart-contract fees, storage-related costs, staking and network operations. Official documentation also describes multiple staking methods, including direct validation, pools and liquid-staking arrangements.
These roles can create demand, but a user may interact with an app using a stablecoin or sponsored transaction while holding little native TON. Track actual fees and balances rather than downloads alone.
Telegram distribution: opportunity and limitation
Telegram can make mini apps, wallets and payments easier to discover. The constructive thesis is that familiar interfaces turn messaging users into recurring on-chain users.
Evidence should include:
- unique fee-paying accounts, with bot filtering;
- repeat use after promotions end;
- on-chain payments and application revenue;
- wallet retention and successful withdrawals;
- fees paid in the native asset; and
- clear disclosure of which Telegram entity, wallet and blockchain service is involved.
An announcement, mini-app view or bot interaction is not automatically a blockchain transaction.
Staking and validator economics
TON uses proof of stake. Staking documentation warns that requirements and tools vary across direct validation, nominator pools and liquid staking.
Each method adds different risks:
- validator operational failure or penalties;
- smart-contract defects;
- provider and commission risk;
- liquid-staking token depegging; and
- delayed or conditional withdrawals.
A displayed APY is provider-supplied and not a guarantee of future yield or timing.
Three TON scenarios
Constructive path
The thesis improves if Telegram-linked products generate persistent on-chain users, fees and payments; validator participation remains healthy; and native-coin demand grows faster than issuance and available supply.
Range-bound path
TON may host popular mini apps while much activity remains promotional, bot-driven or denominated in other assets. Distribution can be valuable without all value accruing to the native coin.
Downside path
The case weakens after wallet or app restrictions, declining retained users, validator concentration, major contract exploits or loss of integration and distribution. Regulatory action affecting payments or platform access can also reduce the funnel.
Token and wallet scams
TON supports fungible tokens called jettons. Anyone may be able to create a jetton with a familiar symbol. Official documentation notes verification status and the importance of token metadata.
Verify the jetton master contract and official link. Do not send funds or enter a recovery phrase because a Telegram account claims to be wallet support.
How to test a $10 target
Use current circulating supply:
$10 × circulating TON = implied network value
Then compare that value with fees, payment use, staking economics, liquidity and competing consumer networks. Do not multiply Telegram’s total users by an assumed wallet balance and call the result demand.
Main risks
- Telegram reach may not convert into retained on-chain use.
- Value can accrue to apps, stablecoins or jettons instead of the native coin.
- Validator and infrastructure concentration.
- Smart-contract, bridge and wallet risk.
- Phishing and counterfeit jettons inside messaging interfaces.
- Regulatory changes affecting payments or app distribution.
Bottom line
TON’s distribution channel is meaningful, but it is the beginning of an adoption thesis, not proof of token value. For 2026, watch retained fee-paying users, native-coin demand, staking health and security.
