Ledger released the fix on August 25, 2026. Users are advised to update their Ledger Ethereum app to the latest version immediately. The update restores proper transaction validation and signing security.
Despite the flaw, Ledger and competing hardware wallets (Trezor, etc.) remain the safest way to hold crypto. This vulnerability was caught and fixed quickly—far better than software wallets, which face constant active exploits.
Update the Ledger Live app and Ethereum app to latest versions. Do not use the old Ethereum app for new transactions. If you stored large Ethereum amounts, consider moving them to a fresh address after updating for extra confidence.
